Not In School? Know Your Rights.

A workshop for parents whose child is out of school through EBSA, waiting for a placement, or unable to attend due to SEND or health needs.

If your child isn't attending school, you've probably already been told a version of the same thing: wait and see, it's just a phase, they'll come round.

Meanwhile the meetings happen and nothing changes, the reports say “fine at school” and the reality at home says something completely different, and you're left holding all of it with no plan written down anywhere.

This workshop exists because there is a legal duty that applies here, and most parents have never been told it exists, let alone how to access it.

What we're covering...

Section 19 of the Education Act 1996 requires your local authority to arrange suitable, full time education when a child can't attend school, whatever the reason. We'll go through what it actually says, how it applies to SEND, EBSA and anxiety specifically, how it fits alongside an EHCP, and what to put in writing so you've got something the local authority actually has to respond to. I'll also cover a change in the Department for Education's own guidance from July 2026 that's going to make this school year harder for families like ours, and exactly how to respond to it.

Who this is for

Parents in England:

  • Whose child hasn't been in school for weeks, months or years and there's no plan.

  • Those for a placement that was agreed but hasn't happened.

  • Whose child's anxiety is stopping them getting through the school gate.

  • Who've been told funding is the reason support can't happen.

If any of that is you, this is built for exactly your situation.

What's included

Your ticket includes:

  • The workshop.

  • The full recording to watch back as many times as you need.

  • The slide deck as a PDF so you can follow along or take notes in whatever way works for you.

  • Template letters you can adapt and send straight away

Everything you need to take action straight away.

About Kate

Hi, I'm Kate...

I'm a SEN mum to autistic and ADHD children, two of whom went through school avoidance themselves and went on to thrive in alternative provision.
I'm also Level 3 SEN law qualified and

I studied this properly for my own family first before I became a SEN Advocate.
Everything in this workshop, I've lived through and then qualified in. Today I support families just like yours get the support their child needs in education.
